Van Life

Tiny Homes Big Dreams

After finishing another series on Netflix, my wife and I found Tiny House Nation and we both thought, “this is cool”. I wanted to learn more about people that choose to live alternatively and tell their stories.

This is a passion project.

Cameron

Not everyone that chooses to live in a tiny house considers themselves a minimalist. Cameron is building his tiny house for purely financial reasons. He believes that it will help him achieve his career goals sooner and save more money in the long run.

Enjoy this photo series of Cameron and his tiny house.

Smithin’ it

My friend Kale and his wife Marinn bought this truck camper before getting married and it’s become their first home. They’re planning on upgrading to a shipping container home next year.

Matt & Jenna

I believe in maximizing happiness by minimizing the unnecessary in life. Sometimes that means living in your car.

I would see this RV near BYU every day while walking to class, and I was in love. I wanted to meet whoever owned such a beautiful vehicle, so I wrote out a little note and stuck it on their windshield with my contact information. I wasn’t even back to my apartment yet when I got a text from Matt. He explained that both he and his wife were BYU students and lived in the RV. I gave him a call and asked if I could share their story through video and photos. They were happy to let me in their home.

Matt and Jenna are inspiring people. They live with only what they need and nothing more. They’ve lowered their baseline for happiness by forcing themselves to focus on what’s really important to them.
